No, you do not need a referral to access Speech Pathology services unless you are accessing funding from Medicare. Simply contact us to make an appointment.
Medicare - Your child may be eligible for a Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM). This plan is designed for people who have a chronic condition that lasts for at least six months and requires support from two or more specialists, and includes communication difficulties and disorders. A CDM plan can provide a rebate on up to five sessions each calendar year. This care plan can be provided by a General Practitioner.
Private Health Insurance - Many private health insurers also offer rebates on Speech Pathology services. We encourage you to contact your health insurance provider to learn more about your specific level of cover.
Important Note - Please note that Medicare and private health insurance cannot be used on the same session (only one or the other). To access rebates from Medicare or Private Health Funds, you will need to pay the full session fee upfront and claim directly from the funding provider with your invoice.
Currently, we are able to support clients under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) that are self-managed or plan-managed. Unfortunately at this time we cannot support clients that are NDIA-managed (also known as agency-managed).
If you would like more information about how to access the NDIS, please get in touch your GP or contact your Local Area Coordinator. You can find out more on the NDIS website.
